The Procedure
Discuss the Theraplex SA FACIAL PEEL with your healthcare professional to be sure it is right for you. The procedure itself is very easy and very safe! After washing your face thoroughly, a deeper level of cleansing using an alcohol-based cleansing pad will prepare your skin for the Theraplex SA FACIAL PEEL.
Next, the Theraplex SA FACIAL PEEL is applied to your skin. Within the first minute of application, you will feel a slight stinging and burning sensation. A translucent white mask will begin to appear on the surface of your skin. Within two to three minutes of the peel application, your level of discomfort should peak and begin to subside. Because of the nature of salicylic acid the stinging and burning will diminishing rapidly.
The Theraplex SA FACIAL PEEL is self-limiting, and stops automatically so there is no risk of over peeling.
Upon completion of the peel, generally within five minutes, rinse the translucent mask off your face and apply theraplex SA FACIAL PEEL moisturizer to hydrate and protect your skin.
No Post-Procedure Downtime!
Immediately after the Theraplex SA FACIAL PEEL your skin will feel smoother and tighter. While there may be an added touch of a rosy-glow to your skin post-procedure, this is temporary. In a day or two, your face should begin to peel. The actual degree and length of peeling will vary, depending on your skin, from mild to noticeable peeling and flaking, and from as few as two to as many as ten days. No matter the level or speed of peeling, let it happen naturally. Do not try to help it along by picking or rubbing.
Following your procedure, it is important to moisturize frequently to prevent moisture loss. Skin Care Tips
- Use a broad spectrum sunscreen of at least SPF 15 daily – this is a must following a theraplex SA FACIAL PEEL.
- Gently cleanse your face twice daily.
- Apply theraplex HYDROLOTION daily to provide deep moisturization, protection from environmental drying and to minimize the appearance of peeling and flaking.
- Avoid rubbing or picking your skin.
- Treat your skin gently during the post-procedure period. Avoid products or treatments that can be irritating such as granular scrubs or masks that must be pulled or rolled off.
- Wait at least a week before having a professional cleansing treatment or facial.
